Who we are

MICODEP - Mwanzai Integrated Community Development Program - is a non-profit organization that is active in the structurally weak regions of Kilifi, Tana River and Kwale County in Kenya.

We are the first and so far only NGO to be specifically committed to the Orma ethnic group, a minority of only around 70,000 people worldwide, many of whom live without medical care, government documents or economic prospects.

Our approach is holistic: we are building a medical infrastructure with stationary and mobile clinics, promoting education by expanding our Galana River School for over 250 children and securing vital basic supplies.

We work closely with a dedicated team on the ground in Kenya and experienced experts from Germany - including our CEO Markus Dietz, who has been managing humanitarian projects in Africa for over 30 years and spends six months a year on the ground.

MICODEP is more than just an aid organization - we are a hands-on project that creates sustainable change where it is needed most.
